Access Completed Reviews, Decision Letters, and Author Responses to Reviewers

Reviewers have access to their own completed reviews. And, depending on publication configuration, they may also have access to completed reviews of the other Reviewers of a submission, and a copy of the Decision letter that was sent to the Author.

View Reviewer comments

A View Reviewer Comments link may appear in the Action column in Reviewer folders, depending on submission status (and publication configuration).

When you complete your review of a new submission (the first version, not a revision), you may access the review you submitted via the View Reviewer Comments link in the Completed Assignments folder. You may also be allowed to access reviews completed by other Reviewers. Reviewers are identified by Reviewer number. (Reviewer names may also be displayed, depending on publication configuration and submission status, as described below.)

If you are invited to review the revision of a submission you reviewed previously, you may access the review you submitted for the previous version via the View Reviewer Comments link in the New Invitations folder and in the Pending Assignments folder if you accept the invitation, as well as in the Completed Reviews folder.

When you are invited to review a revision, depending on publication configuration, you may be allowed to access the reviews of previous versions completed by other Reviewers via the Reviewer Comments link in the New Invitations and Pending Assignments folders. You may not view other reviews of the current revision until you have completed your own review.

Making Reviewer identities visible

When a submission is under review, Reviewers are listed anonymously by Reviewer number in the Reviewer Comments grid (accessed via View Reviewer Comments). A publication may opt to make identities visible to other Reviewers after the Editor sends the Decision letter to the Author. In this case, Reviewer names and numbers appear in the Reviewer Comments grid.

View Decision letter

A View Decision Letter link may appear in the Action column of Reviewer assignment lists. Clicking the link opens a pop-up window. The Decision term is a clickable link that displays the text of the letter. The letter may be an anonymized version or a version with Author information visible. (Link display and data shown depends on publication configuration.)

The Decision letter and Reviewer comments may appear in the same pop-up window (depending on Reviewer permissions). Clicking either View Decision Letter or View Reviewer Comments opens the window.

Author responses to Reviewers

Depending on publication configuration, Reviewers may have access to the Author's responses to all Reviewers via the View Reviewer Comments and View Decision Letter links. These may be anonymized or with Author information visible.
