Author Reminder Reports

The Author Reminder Reports section allows users to manage Author Reminders.

Co-Author Reminder Report

The Co-author Reminder Report provides information on Co-authors who have been sent letters asking for their verification of co-authorship on a submission but have not yet responded. Results display in a table with a Send Reminder column, enabling the user to send reminder letters from the report page.

  1. Click the link to open the report page.
  2. Select a time frame definition:
    • Display outstanding requests for verification sent X or more days ago: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Display outstanding requests for verification sent between selected dates: Enter start and end dates for the time frame in the text boxes.
  3. Optional: Narrow results based on Editor assignment. One or both may be selected.
    1. First Assigned Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
    2. Handling Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
  4. Optional: Narrow results by Article Type and/or Section/Category. One or both may be selected.
    1. Article Type: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Article Types.
    2. Section/Category: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Sections/Categories.
  5. Click Submit.

Author Revision Status Report

The Author Revision Status Report provides information on Authors who have an outstanding revision and may be at risk of having their submission cancelled. Results display in a table with a Send Reminder column, enabling the user to send reminder letters from the report page.

  1. Click the link to open the report page.
  2. Display all submissions that have been out for revision for more than X days: Enter number of days in the text box.
  3. Optional: Narrow results based on Editor assignment. One or both may be selected.
    1. First Assigned Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
    2. Handling Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
  4. Optional: Narrow results by Article Type and/or Section/Category. One or both may be selected.
    1. Type: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Article Types.
    2. Section/Category: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Sections/Categories.
  5. Click Submit.

Author Revision Reminder Report

The Author Revision Reminder Report is only relevant for publications using Author Revision Due Date functionality. This report provides information on Authors who have revisions that are late, that are approaching the due date, or that are due in a specified time frame. Results display in a table with a Send Reminder column, enabling the user to send reminder letters from the report page.

  1. Click the link to open the report page.
  2. Optional: Narrow results based on Editor assignment. One or both may be selected.
    1. First Assigned Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
    2. Handling Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select a time frame definition:
    • Show all submissions that are within X days of the Revision Due Date: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Show all submissions that are X days past the Revision Due Date: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Show all revisions due between selected dates: Enter start and end dates for the time frame in the text boxes.
  4. Optional: Narrow results based on Editor assignment. One or both may be selected.
    1. First Assigned Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
    2. Handling Editor: Select an Editor from the drop-down menu.
  5. Optional: Narrow results by Article Type and/or Section/Category. One or both may be selected.
    1. Article Type: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Article Types.
    2. Section/Category: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Sections/Categories.
  6. Click Submit.

Automated Author Submission Reminder Report

The Automated Author Submission Reminder Report allows users to set up a report that runs nightly to automatically send reminders to Authors based on the pre-configured criteria. This report can be used to send out reminders related to new submissions that require the Author's attention: incomplete submissions, submissions requiring an Author's approval of the PDF, and submissions sent back to the Author.

  1. Click the link to open the report page.
  2. Reminder Type: Use the radio button to select submission type for report.
    • Incomplete submissions: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Submissions waiting for Author’s approval: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Submission sent back to Author: Enter number of days in the text box.
  3. Reminder name: Enter a name for the report.
  4. Reminder letter: Select a letter template from the drop-down list.
  5. Optional: Narrow results by Article Type and/or Section/Category. One or both may be selected.
    1. Article Type: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Article Types.
    2. Section/Category: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Sections/Categories.
  6. Click Save as Automated Reminder.

Saved reminder reports appear in a table at the bottom of the page. Saved reports may be edited or deleted by the user who created them.

Automated Author Revision Reminder Report

The Automated Author Revision Reminder Report allows users to set up a report that runs nightly to automatically send reminders to Authors based on the pre-configured criteria. This report can be used to send out reminders of outstanding revisions, reminders of upcoming revision due dates, or reminders of past due revision dates.

  1. Click the link to open the report page.
  2. Reminder Type: Use the radio button to select submission type for report.
    • Outstanding revisions: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Reminder before revision due date: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Reminder past revision due date: Enter number of days in the text box.
  3. First assigned Editor: Select an editor name from the drop-down list or run for all Editors.
  4. Editor who made first decision: Select an editor name from the drop-down list or run for all Editors.
  5. Reminder name: Enter a name for the report.
  6. Reminder letter: Select a letter template from the drop-down list.
  7. Optional: Narrow results by Article Type and/or Section/Category. One or both may be selected.
    1. Article Type: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Article Types.
    2. Section/Category: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Sections/Categories.
  8. Click Save as Automated Reminder.

Automated Author Transfer Reminder Report

The Automated Author Transfer Reminder Report allows users to set up a report that runs nightly to automatically send reminders to Authors based on the pre-configured criteria. This report can be used to send out reminders based on days before a transfer offer is set to expire or days after an offer has been sent to the Author.

  1. Click the link to open the report page.
  2. Reminder Type: Use the radio button to select submission type for report.
    • Reminder before transfer offer expires: Enter number of days in the text box.
    • Reminder after transfer offer sent: Enter number of days in the text box.
  3. First assigned Editor: Select an editor name from the drop-down list or run for all Editors.
  4. Editor who made first decision: Select an editor name from the drop-down list or run for all Editors.
  5. Reminder name: Enter a name for the report.
  6. Reminder letter: Select a letter template from the drop-down list.
  7. Optional: Narrow results by Article Type and/or Section/Category. One or both may be selected.
    1. Article Type: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Article Types.
    2. Section/Category: Use the multi-selector tool to select one or more Sections/Categories.
  8. Click Save as Automated Reminder.

Saved reminder reports appear in a table at the bottom of the page. Saved reports may be edited or deleted by the user who created them.
