Publications can opt to set final disposition for declined revisions and inactive submissions automatically after a specified number of days. After the number of days elapses, the system automatically sets final disposition to Withdrawn, and the submission moves to the All Submissions with Final Disposition (Withdrawn) folder.
The Editor's Submissions out for Revision folder contains both declined revisions and legitimate revisions-in-progress. Some of these revisions may be abandoned by the Author and remain inactive in the system.
If the Author declines to revise, the submission will remain in the Editor's Submissions out for Revision folder until an Editor either rescinds the decision or sets the final disposition to Withdrawn
The system may be configured to set final disposition on both declined revisions and those that have been abandoned by the Author.
The Editor’s Sent Back to Author for Approval folder contains submissions sent back to the Author from Technical Check or by using the Send Back to Author link. Some of these may be new submissions that have been abandoned by the Author and remain inactive in the system.
The system may be configured to set final disposition on new submissions that have been sent back and abandoned by the Author.
