Custom metadata IDs identify the associated metadata when a submission is transmitted, transferred, or imported. The custom IDs can be created by a publication to uniquely identify these metadata related to submissions:
A publication can create custom metadata IDs that are easy to identify for its staff. Naming conventions must adhere to these rules:
Go to PolicyManager > General Policies > Define Custom Metadata IDs.
The Define Custom Metadata IDs page displays the list of defined IDs. IDs can be added and edited via this page. All defined custom metadata IDs appear on this master list. Custom metadata IDs associated with items that have been hidden appear in a separate list below the main list.
The list can be filtered by choosing a custom metadata type from the drop-down list. When filtered, only the IDs of the filter type appear on the page.
The Re-order by ID button sorts the list into alphabetical order by ID name and displays all IDs. The list can also be reordered by using the grip tool () to drag and drop an ID to a new position in the list.
The order of items on this page is the order they appear on the pages used to associate the IDs with items.
