Two EM system features help Editors and editorial staff identify manuscripts that may have been accidentally or intentionally resubmitted to the publication.
When an Author has submitted another manuscript within a publication-defined number of days, an icon () appears next to the Author's name, indicating potential for a duplicate submission. This indicator displays for all Editors in with access to these folders:
To check for potential duplicates submitted by the Author:
Publications can also configure a duplicate submission check that compares new and revised submissions to previously submitted work. The tool compares Authors, article titles, and abstracts. This feature can be configured for use by a single publication or across publications in a journal group within a unified database.
Editors with permission have access to a Duplicate Submission Check link. Check parameters are configured by Article Type, so the link may not appear for all submissions.
Level of comparison is indicated by a percentage, displayed in red text next to the Duplicate Submission Check link or, if the Action links list is collapsed, below the words, Action links. If the check could not be processed, a red X appears instead of a percentage.
