Enable Automatic Reviewer Role Assignment

Publications can automatically assign a Reviewer role to new users upon registration. This setting applies to self-registered users, proxy-registered users, imported users, and Corresponding Author registrations. 

When this feature is enabled, the question "Available as a Reviewer?" does not appear on the Registration page. Instead, registrants are automatically marked as "Available to Review" and assigned the Reviewer role. (All of this is transparent to the user.)

TO CONFIGURE:

Go to PolicyManager > Registration and Login Policies > Enable Automatic Reviewer Role Assignment. Select the radio button next to "Automatically Assign Reviewer Role on Registration" and then choose a role from the drop-down list. When finished, click Submit.

Note: New users who are proxy registered via one of the methods above (individual proxy registration by Editor, imported user, or proxy registered by Corresponding Author) must receive notification of the proxy registration, either in a Welcome email or an invitation/assignment email.
