Misc Tab (Defining EAR and Cross-Publication EAR Reports)

The Misc (Miscellaneous) tab provides options to add identifying elements to the report: title, description, header, and footer. This tab also provides the option to define sharing rights for the report and to define a drill-down key.

  1. Title: Enter a title for the report. Click on the alignment icon at the right of the text box to set the position where the title displays on the first page of report results (L – left-aligned, M – middle or centered, R – right-aligned). This title appears on the report that is run or exported.
  2. Description: Enter a description for the report. Click on the alignment icon at the right of the text box to set the position where the description displays below the title on the first page of report results.
  3. Header: Enter a header for the report. Click on the alignment icon at the right of the text box to set the position where the header displays on all pages of report results.
  4. Footer: Enter a footer for the report. Click on the alignment icon at the right of the text box to set the position where the footer displays on all pages of report results.
  5. Share With: Options shown on this list depend on site configuration.
    • Everyone: Default option. Select this to share the report with all publication sites in Business Publisher Group.
    • Publication Group: One or more Publication Group names may appear. Select this option to share only with member sites of the Publication Group. When run, reports shared with a Publication Group will automatically display results only for the group member sites.
  6. Rights: Use the drop-down menu to select the editing rights for a shared report. The creator of the report has full-access rights to a report.
    • None: The report will be available only to the creator in the My Reports section of the menu page. Only the creator can view and edit the report.
    • Full Access: Default option. Viewing user (creator or other) can edit and resave report with same name. Enables display of Design icon and Save and Save As options on report toolbar.
    • Read Only: Viewing user (other than creator) can save a new version of the report. Enables display of Design icon and Save As option on report toolbar.
    • View Only: Viewing user (other than creator) can run report but cannot make or save any changes to the report. Disables the display of the Design icon.
  7. Drill-Down Key: Select a field to function as a drill-down key. Selecting a field here makes the report available in the Subreport drop-down menu on the Advanced Fields Settings popup (accessed via the Gear icon on Fields and Summary tabs). The drill-down key functions to pull data from this report into a subreport for another report. Example: The standard People Detail Subreport has People Unique ID set as the drill-down key. This can be set as a subreport for any report that includes the People Unique ID and used to display name, role, and contact information for each corresponding People Unique ID in the main report. For more information, see Define a Subreport.
