Modify Submission Classifications

When submitting a manuscript, Authors may select from the publication's configured list of classifications to assist in defining the topic area of the paper. Editors may be allowed to modify the Author's selected list. These Editors (with RoleManager permission) see a Classifications link in the Action column of several folders on the Editor Main Menu.

To modify classifications of a submission:

  1. Click the Classifications link to open the View/Modify Submissions Classifications pop-up window.
  2. Select Classifications. The list on the left shows all configured classifications. The list on the right shows all classifications selected by the Author.
    • To add classifications to the selected list: check the box next to the classification term in the left column and click the Add button.
    • To remove classifications from the selected list: check the box next to the classification term in the right column and click the Remove button.
  3. When finished, click Submit.

If the publication's configured classifications list is long, some items with sub-terms might be collapsed (the sub-terms hidden). Click the + icon to expand to see a term's sub-terms or click Expand All to open all sub-terms.

You may also search for terms. Enter text in the Search text box and click Search. Matching terms in the list will appear in red.
