Notify Author of Editor Decision

Editor roles with permission send notification to the Author of an editorial decision. The sender may be the same Editor who made the final decision, or it may be a member of the editorial staff.

An Editor who may both compose the letter and send it sees a Send Now button on the letter page.

An Editor (or editorial staff member) who sends the letter after the decision has been made sees a Notify Author link in the submission's Author Notified Date column. Once the letter has been sent, the notification date replaces the link.
