Production Task Questionnaires
A questionnaire can be created and associated with a production task. When a task is configured to include a questionnaire, the task recipient is presented with the questions when submitting the assigned task.
Note: Questionnaire functionality is not available for Schedule Group Production Tasks, tasks submitted via FTP (Import), or milestone tasks.
Once a task is submitted and the questionnaire completed, the questions and responses are displayed on the Production Details page with the associated task.
Production task questionnaires (questions and responses) presented to the submission's Corresponding Author are also displayed on the Transmittal Form page. Editor and Publisher roles (with permission) may edit responses on the Transmittal Form page if the question is configured as editable.
Production task questions and responses may also be included in the Transmittal XML (if configured) and the Task Completion letter (using the %PRODUCTION_QUESTIONNAIRE_RESPONSES% merge field).
The Production Task Questionnaire View is available in Enterprise Analytics Reporting.
To Configure:
- Create the questions and questionnaire. For full details on creating custom questions and questionnaires, see Questionnaires.
- Go to PolicyManager > Questionnaire Policies > Create Custom Questions.
- Click the Add Question button to open the Add Custom Question page.
- Enter question text.
- Select response type.
- In the Integration Options section of the page, check the box next to the setting, Include in Production Task Transmittal. (This makes the question and its response available in the Production Task Transmittal metadata XML for eligible transmittal methods. See note below.)
- In the Transmittal Form section of the page, check the applicable box or boxes. These settings apply only to questions presented to Corresponding Authors:
- Display: Question and response are displayed on the transmittal form.
- Editable: Response value is editable (by user with permission).
- Required: Response value is required.
- When all configurations are complete, click Save and Close.
- At the bottom of the Create Custom Questions page (or PolicyManager main page) click the Create Questionnaires link.
- On the Create Questionnaires page, click the Add button to open the Configure Questionnaires page.
- Follow the steps in Questionnaires to create the questionnaire.
- Associate the questionnaire with a submission production task. For detailed information on task configuration, see Configure Submission Production Tasks or Editorial Tasks.
- Click the Configure Submission Workflows and Production Tasks link at the bottom of the Create Questionnaire page (or PolicyManager main page).
- On the Configure Submission Workflows and Production Tasks page, click the Edit link next to All Submission Production Tasks to display a list of all tasks.
- Click the Edit link next to the task to associate with the questionnaire.
- On the Edit Submission Production Task page, go to the Questionnaire Options section and use the drop-down menu to select the custom questionnaire configured above.
- When finished, click Submit.
Note: When the Include in Production Task Transmittal checkbox is selected, the question and response will only be included for tasks that use the NLM 3.0 or JATS transmittal methods.
