Production Tracking for Book Processing

ProduXion Manager can be used specifically for managing the production of books. Book processing uses a schedule group (a holder for a group of submissions that will be published together) to manage the submissions (chapters or other smaller units of the project) and the tasks required to move them through the production process.

A custom language pack is available to display book-related terminology in the system.

Key differences in the two language packs:

To configure:

To enable the book-related language pack, contact your Aries Account Coordinator.

To enable book processing, go to PolicyManager > ProduXion Manager > Configure Book Processing.

Enable Book Processing: Check the box next to this setting.
Optional: New Books (Schedule Groups) are automatically created in the Book Schedule Group Family: Check the box next to this setting.
When finished, click Submit.

Configurations for role permissions, submission production tasks, and schedule group production tasks are the same as with journal production. For information, see Production Tracking.

It is recommended that a publication site be used exclusively for book processing.
