The proposals search grid works the same way as the submissions search grid. The grid includes seven columns: Criterion, Is/Is not, Selector, Value, AND/OR definition, and two columns (far left and far right) to accommodate parenthetical functionality.
The Selector and Value lists may change depending on the Criterion chosen. Selector options change to accommodate the data type of the Criterion. The Value column may be either a text box (for user data entry) or a drop-down list of defined values.
The Is/Is not column functions to create inclusive or exclusive statements. Selecting "is not" negates the search term. For example:
[Handling Editor Last Name] [is not] [Contains] [Jones]
returns all submissions for which the Handling Editor is not named Jones.
Additional lines of parameters can be added to a search by clicking the Add button. The relationship between lines is defined by the AND/OR dropdown.
[Proposal Article Type] [is] [Equal To] [Special Issue] AND
[Editorial Status] [is] [Equal To] [Accept]
returns a list of all Special Issue articles that have been accepted.
[Proposal Article Type] [is] [Equal To] [Special Issue] OR
[Proposal Article Type] [is] [Equal To] [Editorial Commentary]
returns all articles that are either a Special Issue article or an Editorial Commentary.
The relationships between lines can be further defined by grouping one or more lines in parentheses (using the drop-down selectors). Enclosing a set of search terms in parentheses sets evaluation priorities. Criteria enclosed in parentheses are executed first.
To delete a set of criteria, click the Remove button next to it. (Note that removing a search row does not attempt to re-balance parentheses within the query.)
The Proposals search results page is similar to the Submissions search results page, except that results are limited to submissions in the Proposal Article Type family. The results include a View Related Submissions link, which displays other submissions associated with the Proposal.
As with Submissions searches, the results of a Proposals search can be downloaded in a tab-delimited text file in UTF-8 format, using the Download Search Results button.
Note: Target Publication Date, Volume and Issue data all pertain to the Proposal parent submission, not any child submissions associated with the Proposal.
