Once an IJRS group is established and the Share User Data relationship is confirmed, publications have the option of sharing their Reviewer data with one or more of the publications in the group. Sharing Reviewer Data allows Editors to select Reviewers and to see Reviewer statistics from other publications in the group.
When a publication is in a sharing relationship that includes Reviewer information, the Reviewer Selection Summary page allows an Editor (with appropriate permissions) to search the People data from other publications in the group.
Cross-publication Reviewer searches use the same criteria as searches on the home publication site. As with a search on the home publication, an Editor can search by Personal Classifications in another publication's Reviewer data; the selection page lists all the Classifications from the sister publication (rather than the home publication).
Publications are not required to participate in Reviewer Data sharing, even if a User Data Sharing relationship exists.
Unlike User Data sharing, Reviewer Data sharing does not have to be done across all publications in the group. Reviewer Data sharing can be done unilaterally (e.g., Journal A can share with B and not with C, and Journal B does not necessarily have to share with A.)
Go to AdminManager > Share People > Define Reviewer Sharing Partners. Select the publications in the group (check the box next to the name) to receive access to your publication's Reviewer Data and click Submit. Only publications with a confirmed Share User Data relationship appear on this list.
The other publications in the group must also configure this setting to share their Reviewer Data with your publication.
Go to RoleManager > Editor Role. Grant permission to the applicable Editor roles:
Note: The options and criteria permissions Editor Roles are granted for Reviewer searching on the home publication apply to cross-publication searching also. The available Reviewer Search Options permissions are: Search by Classification Matches, Search by Personal Classifications, and Suggest Reviewers.
The Reviewer Search Criteria permissions are: People Notes, Detailed People Notes, Personal Classifications, and People Keywords. The availability of these in cross-publication search depends on the configuration of the sharing policies.
