Suggest Reviewers (Reviewer Search)
The Suggest Reviewers option allows Editors to search for Reviewers based on their own criteria. Each Editor user can configure personal search preferences. (Preferences must be defined before search option can be used. See below.)
- Select Suggest Reviewers as the search type.
- Use the drop-down menu to select the pool of users to search (entire database, all Reviewer roles, or a specific Reviewer role).
- Results display in the Reviewer Candidates grid.
Set preferences for Reviewer suggestions
Before using Suggest Reviewers as a search option, you must configure your preferences. These preferences are stored once saved. You may change them at any time.
- On the Reviewer Selection Summary page, click My Suggest Reviewer Preferences link (on the left side of the page).
- The My Suggest Reviewer Preferences page contains two sections. In the first section, define what Reviewers to exclude from search results:
- People from same institution (as Corresponding Author): Check the box to exclude.
- People from same city (as Corresponding Author): Check to exclude.
- People who have recorded unavailable dates in the system within this time frame: Enter number of days.
- People already responsible for pending reviews: Enter number of reviews.
- People who lack classification matches with the submission: Enter minimum number of matches.
- In the second section, define how system should sort results list. Enter numbers 1 – 7 in the boxes next to the criteria to indicate rank order of importance.
- Click Submit.
