The Suggested by Author option allows Editors to search for Reviewers entered by the submitting Author on the Suggest Reviewers step of the submission process. This tool executes a query to identify possible matches in the system to each email address and name (first and last) entered by the Author. The results page includes a list of all possible matches.
To search by Author suggestions:
A list of Reviewers suggested by the Author appears separately above the grid for quick reference.
The Reviewer Candidate grid displays potential matches organized in three levels of relevance. Exact email addresses are presented first, exact first and last name pairs are presented next, and finally last name and first initial matches. The first level is shown when results appear. A link, See More Matches, appears below the grid.
Any match to an Author suggestion is displayed with the text: "Author may have suggested this Reviewer."
Any Reviewers suggested by the Author that do not return any matches from the database are displayed with a Register and Select New Reviewer link.
The Suggest Reviewers step of the submission process may also allow Authors to identify Reviewers they do not want to read their submission.
Editors can see both the Author's suggested and opposed Reviewers in a pop-up window available from Reviewer search pages. Click the Author's Reviewer Preferences link. (This link appears only if the Author has provided Reviewer information.)
Results displayed from all options also identify possible matches to names suggested and opposed by the Author. Text below a Reviewer name indicates when a Reviewer candidate is a potential match to either a suggested or opposed Reviewer:
