The majority of email clients can receive and process Unicode characters properly. Publications may want to take advantage of this and allow all email letters to be sent in a format enabling Unicode characters to be included in the email.
In rare cases, some Unicode characters may not be properly interpreted by the email client. This may result in the email displaying replacement characters, such as question marks or rectangles, or the entire email body may be turned into an email attachment.
To properly view some Unicode characters, the appropriate fonts must be installed on the user's computer.
For recipients experiencing these problems, a change to a more up-to-date email client may be required.
To enable support for Unicode characters, contact your Aries Account Coordinator.
Once enabled for your site, this option applies to all email sent from the system.
