A task may be configured for automatic assignment based on the completion of one or more trigger tasks. The system check each time a task is completed to see if another task in the workflow should be triggered by the completion. The system automatically then assigns the triggered task to the appropriate task recipient.
A task can be configured with one or multiple trigger tasks. If configured with one trigger task, then the task is assigned automatically when that sole trigger task is submitted. If configured with multiple trigger tasks, the task is assigned automatically only when all trigger tasks have been completed, i.e., the completion of the last trigger task will activate assignment of the triggered task.
Tasks can be configured to allow repeat automatic assignment. For a task with one trigger task, if the trigger task is completed for an additional time after the first assignment and completion of the triggered task, the triggered task will be assigned automatically again. For a task with multiple configured trigger tasks, if any of the trigger tasks is completed for an additional time after the first assignment and completion of the triggered task, the triggered task will be assigned automatically again. (It is not required that all the trigger tasks be completed again before automatically assigning the triggered task for the additional time.)
Trigger tasks may be used with both production task workflows and editorial task workflows (using Task Manager).
Go to PolicyManager > ProduXion Manager > Configure Submission Workflows and Production Tasks.
