All publications on the EM system use the ISO 3166-1 list of countries. Depending on how records were entered into a publication's database, some may not comply with the ISO standard. A report is available to help identify inconsistencies between People Data and the ISO Country list.
Note: For publications that do not transmit files and metadata to a production system, ISO Country normalization is not necessary. However, publications may choose to update People records for reporting purposes, etc.
Go to the Reports menu > Summary and Annual Reports > ISO Standard Country Comparison Report.
Two optional settings for the report are available:
The report lists People records that have non-compliant country names (countries that do not match the ISO list). The editorial office may refer to the report to update the incorrect People records manually.
