Commerce Manager: Editor and Publisher Experience

Two permissions related to Commerce Manager are available for Editor and Publisher roles: View Fees and Payments and Edit Fees and Payments. Users may have View Fees and Payments permission only, or they may have both View and Edit Fees and Payments permission.

Editor and Publisher roles with permission to View Fees and Payments have access to the following Commerce Manager features:

Note: To ensure total security, when a user proxies as another Editor or Publisher Role with the Edit Fees and Payments permission, the proxy user cannot edit fees and payments.

TO CONFIGURE:

Go to RoleManager > Editor or Publisher Roles.Grant permissions to the applicable roles:

  1. View Fees and Payments: Allows user with this role to access fees and payment information and run Commerce Manager reports.
    1. Edit Fees and Payments: Sub-permission enables user to edit fees and payment information and modify values on Commerce Manager reports results.

To add the Fees and Payments and Charge Fee links to a custom Details Page layout, go to PolicyManager > General Policies > Define Details Page Layout. On the Details Page Layouts page, click the Edit link next to the appropriate layout. On the Add/Edit Details Page Layout page, click the link to the Select Items to Display page > Links >Fees and Payments. Check the box, and click Submit.

Publications can provide customized instructions to Editors and Publishers on the Fees and Payments page and the Charge Fee page. These instructions appear at the top of the page in addition to any fee-specific instructions configured elsewhere. HTML tags and special characters may be used in the instructions.

To add custom instructions, go to PolicyManager > Commerce Manager > Edit Fees and Payments Instructions. Enter the custom instructions in the Fees and Payments (for Editors/Publishers) text box and the Charge Fee page (for Editors/Publishers) text box and then click Submit. 

Entering custom instructions is not required; however, no default instructions are provided.
