Configure Corresponding Production Editor Designation

The Corresponding Production Editor for a submission is the designated contact person for email correspondence related to the submission in production. The Corresponding Production Editor designation may be given to a user with an Editor or Publisher role (with applicable permission). Only one user can serve as Corresponding Production Editor at any given time

For Editor and Publisher role use, see Corresponding Production Editor Designation.

The Corresponding Production Editor designation can be used for the following purposes:

  1. The system can include the Corresponding Production Editor's name and other identifying information in the signature of an email when the actual sender of the email may be someone else. (Corresponding Production Editor merge fields must be inserted into the letter.)
  2. The Corresponding Production Editor's individual email address can be used as the "from" (and "reply to") address on certain letters sent from the EM system related to the submission in production. Usually, a general Editorial Office email address is configured as the sender of system email.
  3. Letters assigned to any of the Ad Hoc letter families (Ad Hoc from Editor, etc.) can be configured with the Production Editor as one of the recipients. Similarly, letters assigned to any letter family can be configured with the Production Editor as an automatic copied (cc) recipient.

Corresponding Production Editor merge fields

For any letters configured to be sent with the "signature" of the Corresponding Production Editor (as described in item 1 above), merge fields are available to include identifying information about the individual Corresponding Production Editor. Letter configuration is done on a letter-by-letter basis. For merge field information, see Corresponding Production Editor merge fields.

To Configure:

Go to RoleManager > Editor Role. Grant permissions to the applicable Editor roles:

Configure the Corresponding Production Editor field to appear on Details pages to enable users with permission to change the designation. For details, see Configure Details Page.
