Manuscript analysis services evaluate materials for scholarly publications, for example, to check for compliance with industry guidelines or to perform statistical analysis. These third-party services can integrate with Editorial Manager, enabling the exchange of files from within EM. See the current list of manuscript analysis services available for integration.
When this feature is enabled, a publication can send submission metadata and files for analysis, automatically or manually, and users with permission can receive and view the resulting reports. All roles may be given permission to view results.
Submission metadata, including any custom submission questions configured on the publication site, plus any combination of the following files may be sent to an analysis service, depending on how the service's integration is configured:
Users with permission may view analysis results for a submission on the Manuscript Analysis Services page. The page displays links to the reports and scores from the service, if applicable. Format of reports received depends on the analysis service: either a URL to view results in the analysis service’s system or a PDF to download.
For details on viewing reports and initiating analysis requests, see:

Article Types must be configured for use with a Manuscript Analysis Service. Go to PolicyManager > Submission Policies > Edit Article Types, and click the Edit link next to the applicable Article Type.
On the Edit Article Type Page, the Manuscript Analysis Services section displays all services enabled for the publication. Each service must be configured individually. One or more workflow events may be selected to trigger the system to send materials for analysis automatically. If no events are checked, users (with permission) can initiate an analysis manually.
For each service:
