Configure Use of WeChat Gateway

The Charlesworth Group's WeChat Gateway platform can integrate with EM to provide direct channels of communication between a publication’s EM site and Authors who use WeChat, the Chinese multi-purpose app.

To use the WeChat Gateway a publisher must have an official WeChat account and a relationship with The Charlesworth Group. See The Charlesworth Group website for more information on the WeChat Gateway.

For Author information, see WeChat Gateway for Author Notifications.

For Editor information, see WeChat Gateway for Author Notifications (Editor Use).

TO CONFIGURE:

The WeChat Gateway works via EM Notification Services. To enable EM Notification Services, contact your Aries Account Coordinator. For details, see EM Web Services and EM Notification Services.

Go to RoleManager > Editor Role. Grant permissions to the applicable Editor roles:

Go to AdminManager > Configure Endpoints for Notification Services. Use the Configure Endpoint Details page to define all endpoints that should receive notifications at workflow events:

  1. Click Create New Endpoint button to open a pop-up window.
  2. Enter endpoint name.
  3. Enter endpoint URL (provided by Charlesworth).
  4. Check the box next to the setting, Only send notifications if corresponding author has a WeChat Notification Channel ID.
  5. Click Submit on the popup.
  6. When all endpoints are entered, click Submit on the page.

Complete configuration of EM Notification Services. For details, see EM Web Services and EM Notification Services.

Note: For WeChat notifications, the document status sent is the text configured by the publication to display to Authors. If no custom Author text is configured, the Editorial Document Status text is sent. For details, see Customize Editorial Document Status Terms.
