Permissions for Publisher Role Activities (RoleManager)

Enabling permissions in RoleManager allows Publisher roles to handle the preparation of submissions for production as well as engaging in other activities, such as using search tools and sending system email. Additional permissions appear on the Publisher RoleManager page when other features are enabled for the publication. Publisher roles have a narrower selection of permissions than Editor roles and are usually assigned to users who have a more limited interaction with the system, such as third-party service providers.

Download Metadata

Allows Publisher role to download file (tab-delimited or Unicode Format – UTF-8, similar to the file created for custom reports) containing the values for the metadata fields that appear on the specific manuscript's transmittal form. Allows users to manipulate transmittal form data for reporting purposes, and to accommodate production systems that are not linked directly to EM.

Cross-publication Login

Access "Go To" Publication List

Enables the Edit Go to Publication List link on the Update My Information page. The user configures the list of publications to appear in the Go to Publication shortcut list.

Allow Automatic Login to this Role

Enables the user to log in automatically to the site on which this permission is set when accessed via the Go to Publication short. Use in combination with the permission above.
